  • Belly dance classes on Monday and Friday evenings with Amy McGuire.
  • Corporate yoga classes and stress-reduction programs designed specifically for both management and employees.
  • Small, intimate, group classes ensure individual attention to correct posture and alignment.
  • All levels are welcome, including children and senior citizens, and beginners are especially encouraged to attend.
  • Private yoga classes, kurunta (rope) yoga, gong therapy, and reflexology sessions are all available by appointment only.
  • Yoga on the sand at Will Rogers State Beach Sundays at 8/9 AM, weather permitting.
  • Monthly workshops on the final Sunday of the month.

At TENTH GATE YOGA, small, private yoga classes and meditation sessions in a beautiful home studio with an experienced and certified yoga instructor are complemented by belly dance, kurunta (rope yoga, reflexology, and gong therapy to restore physical and mental balance.

Our primary goal is to discover how to hold an asana (literally, 'comfortable seat') with perfect ease in order to open the heart chakra and prevent 'dis-ease.' Energy starts to rise up the spine and we begin to realize our true potential as fully-functional and compassionate human beings, intimately connected to everything else on this planet.

The tools to accomplish this are relatively simple, yet remarkably difficult - we simply have to learn how to control the breath by committing to a regular yoga practice.

Wiithin a matter of days, this will start to increase physical strength and flexibility, recalibrate the endocrine (glandular) system, boost the immune system, tone the autonomic nervous system, increase circulation of the blood, release tension, reduce pain and stress, and remove mental and emotional blocks.

Progressive techniques of breath control, combined with correct posture and flowing movements, cleanse, stretch and strengthen the body, as well as focus and calm the mind. A deeper experience of the self becomes possible through consistent practice.

Drawing from the teachings of BKS Iyengar, Pattabhi Jois, and Yogi Bhajan, as well as Zen Buddhist meditation techniques, the following classes, workshops, and corporate programs are designed to assist those who intend to begin and sustain such a practice.
